Annual Durango Visit!

The girls and I left just a few days after my teaching school year ended.  I had a great year at Tendoy Elementary through the 2011-12 year teaching K-5 Special Education.  However, the 27th's rolled around and with Bryson headed off to Lander, WY we decided to take our annual mini vacation down to Durango, CO to see family and friends!  I regret not taking more pictures now that I look at my camera.  My selection is quite limited!

Our days were spent at Grandma Walls' house playing outside, splashing in the water, chasing and catching bugs (thanks for the bug house, Grandma!), NOT napping when needed, reading books, playing with toys at both sets of grandparents, climbing the rock wall, enjoying the hot-tub with Papa, and visiting all the cousins in the area!  

As always, it's a very quick two weeks!  Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Durango has a fundraiser called "Men Who Grill" and it shuts down a block of main street.  Various businesses cook out and grill while we get to eat all the food we can (mostly meat) for the admission ticket.  A huge thanks to Honeyville for paying our admission ticket! And of course, their grilled fruit and Honeyaki sauce marinated chicken was to die for!  

A business was there with two "Bigfoot" characters walking around.  So not to scare the kids they took off their masks and let the girls try them on...

 They quickly went from laughing in the masks and thinking they looked silly to hands up the mask's nose and mouths!  It made for a lot of laughter from onlookers!

Abby LOVED the chili-lime grilled corn on the cob.  I honestly think she had 5 of them and only stopped because we had to go.

Papa took the girls in the hot tub one evening!  For a 3 and 5 year old, this was definitely a highlight of the trip!

Brynn climbed the rock wall at the Webber's with a little assistance from Papa belaying (aka as pulling her up) from below.  She never once said she was done or wanted to come down!  Three stories up - such a trooper!

A picture on the drive home.  By the end of two weeks, both girls were ready to be back in their own home in Pocatello.  After being back in Pokey for about 2 days they are continually asking to either go back to Colorado or when we are going to go back.  Great memories and so glad we could see everyone!
