Although this year's party wasn't as big as the Tangled Birthday we did for the girls last year, it was just as memorable for Brynn - possibly more so because she didn't share the day like last year. Brynn understood that we were going to have a family party this year rather than including too many friends. She was very mature about the fact that we would probably alternate between friends and family style birthday parties.
Since our apartment is quite small, we didn't have anywhere to hide the larger presents. Plus, what person REALLY wants to wait to do presents until the evening? I mean seriously! So Brynn woke up and came down stairs to....
A New Bike!!
And...
Her own personal bean bag chair (reading seat as she calls it)
Abby was definitely jealous...but luckily for her she get's to celebrate her birthday exactly one month from her big sister's! Until then she just continues to "try out" Brynn's new seat!
The birthday girl originally requested a very deluxe and unrealistic Ariel themed birthday cake. Sadly, working full time has made it hard for me to have the energy and time to go above and beyond. So after running through a few different ideas, Brynn decided on "Rainbow Cupcakes" which I think turned out really cute!
Plus...our 5 year old loved mixing the colored cake batter and decorating her own cake!
The Big Event - candles!
Thinking about her wish....
A few more small gifts before the night is over made her one happy girl!
New Books (including Fancy Nancy and a very detailed book on insects) and Bubble Bath!
The birthday girl has also asked to get her hair cut for the last month! So here's her new bob! Our little girl suddenly looks SO much older!
Happy Birthday Brynn! We are so blessed to have your in our family! You are such a fun and gentle hearted child! We honestly thank our Father in Heaven nightly for you and the little girl you are becoming. You may be stubborn, but you do it with obedience :) You are quite literal and need to have an understanding and rationale, purpose, or meaning behind everything you do. You are so ready for kindergarten as you are already an emergent reader, interested by letter formation and sounds as well as the spelling of words. You are mastering basic math (1:1 correspondence), and have an obvious love of learning. You aren't competitive, yet you always try your best and take your time. We honestly believe you will excel in school and any other adventure (tumbling, dance, music, etc.) that you take on during your elementary school years! We love you baby girl!
